Aren't colds the worst??

Hello! I know I haven't posted much lately, but I have been sick all week with a cold. The only symptom that is left is the cough and it is a doozie! It is one of those tickles in the back of the throat that just can't be ignored. :( So not much sleep lately. Double :(!

Fortunately last night I didn't cough as much, but then I was up half the night with baby Sara. At least she doesn't have this cold too! She is the only one in the house that managed to escape it. Knock on wood...

I have still been scrapbooking at least. It will take more than a cold to stop me - ha ha! I have some great LO's to show you:

Halloween is fast approaching and I still have a few things to do. We need to buy a pumpkin to carve and candy to give out (we ate the first box already. Why do I buy candy early??!)

At least I have the costumes already. Though Danielle has changed her mind and wants to be a witch instead of a princess. I am trying to decide whether or not to buy a second costume since she has a fairly large princess dress that will go over her snow jacket (just in case, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't let it be cold and snowy!!) She will need a costume for Friday at school and this one will be a bit loose without the jacket. I don't imagine she will want to wear her cat costume from last year again either. Sigh...

I am not opposed to buying a second costume since they are probably now on clearance, but my hubby is opposed to "evil" costumes such as witches. Danielle, being 6, wants to wear a similar costume to her two friends so that they can be witches together. (Peer pressure starts early!) So one of them is going to be unhappy. Perhaps I should send them to the store and they can argue it out on their own without involving me... :)

At any rate, Sara is going to be a cute little love bug and there should be no objections, at least none to the costume choice. I put it on her the other day and it is too cute for words:

Hopefully she will let me put it on her on Halloween night so that I can get some better pictures of her and Danielle together!

That's all for now! Hope you have a fantastic day!

Halloweenies!

Well, despite being sick yesterday (and today too!), I managed to do another scrapbook page. This one is the recipe for a lunch that I made over the weekend. Danielle is old enough to be into Halloween without being too scared of it this year, so I have been digging through the web looking for spooky meal ideas. I found some really cute ones on Pillsbury's website here. Check them out if you have the desire to make a special treat for your kids (or yourself!!)

Blast from the Past

Happy Tuesday!

We had a wonderful weekend. My parents were in the city visiting for a few days. Next week they are off to B.C. to house sit for 5 months this winter. We'll miss them, but they will be flying in for Christmas (weather permitting). And with the technology of the internet, we'll be able to keep in touch via email and web cam as well as by phone! It is also great incentive for me to take lots of pictures to keep them up to date! :)

Since we had company, I didn't get to do a lot of scrapbooking, but I did manage to do one layout of some pictures taken when my middle brother an I were kids. Talk about a blast from the past!!

Not sure how much scrapbooking I will get to do this week. Sara and I finally caught the cold that Brendon and Danielle have had for the past two weeks. So I am drinking lots of tea and getting as much rest as I can.

That's all for now!

Happy Friday! New LO's by me and some exciting news!

Happy Friday, all!

It is another cool morning here, but there is no snow on the ground, so it is still all good! The forecast even calls for some nicer weather over the weekend.

I have another LO to share with you from Monica Larsen's new kit. It is so pretty!

PS - she says she has a Christmas one coming soon! Can't wait!!

And now my news that I held back the other day - I am joining the creative team for Inspired Mommie Designs!! She has some really cute kits in her Pretty Scrappy store. Go check them out!! And then check in at her blog for some awesome free word art!

Just released today is her newest kit, Trick or Treat. It is really great for all those Halloween pictures that you are about to take! Here are my pages:

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this past weekend. So many things to be thankful for - good health, loving families, and the snow we got on Friday melted! Yay!!

We got more snow than I expected to see in early October. My hubby measured it with his hand for all to see:

It was enough for my oldest daughter and I to get out there and make some snowmen...I mean snow people. In fact, it was our family, complete with dog. There was much debate over what size to make Sara's snow person and whether it should have two or three snowballs since she cannot stand on her own yet. In the end, we made two. Next year she should merit three!

From left to right, we have Keisha (dog), Sara, Mommy (me), Danielle, and Daddy.

Some exciting news from the world of digital scrapbooking - Monica Larsen of Scrapscandistyle.org is about to release a new winter themed kit.

It has lots of great winter elements and is perfect for Christmas too. It is not in the stores yet, but will be soon. Until then, here is a preview of the first layout I made:

There is more exciting digital scrapbooking news for me too, but I will keep it under my hat for the moment.

That's all for now! Have a wonderful day!!

Fall done already?!

We had such a cold, rainy summer, it was great that it was delayed a few weeks by some lovely, hot weather. Now it seems that two short weeks later that we are heading straight into winter. It snowed today - boo!! Fortunately, I took advantage of the few days of nice fall weather and took my youngest daughter, Sara, (and our dog!) for a nice walk. We saw lots and lots of geese and took a few pictures. She looked so cute in her little hat and fleece sweater!

Hopefully it will warm up again so that we can get a nice family portrait done of the four of us.
This one is a few years old already!

As you can see, Danielle is only 4 in this picture, but she is 6 now, so it is really out of date!

Well, that's all for now. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Cheers!
Jen

Very first post ever!

Hello to all! This is my very first blog post ever. I plan to make this a place where I can post my digital scrapbook layouts, things that interest me, and eventually some digital scrapbook kits / elements / freebies of my own designs!

For now, I am just figuring this whole process out, so pardon the dust!
